High Desert Experience

COVID-19 Update

When we started Monolith we wanted to bring people together here in Taos, New Mexico to share the beauty of the landscape and the love of music & art.

Everyone has been affected by the current world pandemic. We had no idea our world would be flipped upside down as fast as it did. Currently under our Governor’s health order in New Mexico, bars and venues are closed. Gatherings are to be no more than 5 people, as well as 25% occupancy in hotels. The only thing we can do at this point is plan for an epic 2021!

We held out as long as we could hoping for a break in the weather, but this storm is lingering and not letting up. Which means with a heavy heart we must move Monolith on the Mesa to 2021; September 24th, 25th and 26th.

Since being in lockdown, we have had all this time to plot and plan our direction for 2021, next year is already shaping up to be a killer party!! This year’s entire line up will not be rescheduled to next year, 2021. We are working hard to include as many bands from this year’s line up. There will be changes, but no disappointments.

Interactive art is an integral part of this high desert experience. We’ll be posting on instagram an open call to all artists who are interested in potentially participating in Monolith.

We will be hosting a Monolith on the Mesa “Flashback” Saturday, September 26th 2020. We have some stellar footage and surprise guests, along with some crazy give away contests. So tune in, details coming.

We wish you the best, and want to thank everyone who contributed to our host venue Taos Mesa Brewing https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-the-mothership . They have big plans with this rebuild and are sure to make 2021 like no other!

We appreciate your support. Stay safe & healthy out there.

Cheers!
From The Monolith Crew

Monolith on the Mesa is a “High Desert Experience” that is an independent 2nd year 3 day festival that is being hosted on the grounds of Taos Mesa Brewing and Hotel Luna Mystica in Taos, New Mexico (8 miles from the town of Taos). The festival is focused around the heavy rock genre (Heavy Psych, Stoner, Retro Rock, Sludge, Space Rock, Doom, Drone) as well as installation art along with visuals projected around the compound. Music inspires art, as well as art inspiring music. It is limited to 1,500 tickets and will be an intimate performance. There are two stages, the indoor stage, and the outdoor “earthship” amphitheater that will be rotating acts throughout the day. The festival is a perfect getaway, offering attendees the unique and mystical Taos experience!
